Our team at OAK Network is incredibly excited to share with our community and the Polkadot ecosystem that after successful testing between Moonbase Alpha and OAK’s staging environment — the Moonriver and Turing Network parachains on Kusama are opening a HRMP channel between parachains to create sophisticated automation functionality using XCM in the Moonriver ecosystem — and soon to Moonbeam!

The Moonriver Parachain

Moonriver is a solidity smart contract platform and the canary network for the Moonbeam parachain. Moonriver and Moonbeam are some of the premier parachains in the ecosystem and in many ways are the gold standard for parachain development. Our team at OAK Network are looking forward to working alongside the teams working on Moonriver by building diverse products and dApps. After significant testing between OAK and Moonbeam from the engineering teams, everyone is looking forward to integrating XCM automation into the Moonriver ecosystem.

The channel between Moonriver and the Turing Network will create XCM automation functionality that is usable by any applications building and operating on Moonriver. MOVR token holders voted on referendum #21 on the Moonriver Governance Platform which opens the HRMP channel and registers the cross-chain asset xcTUR. The proposal was successfully passed on the Moonriver open governance platform. You can see the referendum on Polkassembly at the link below.

Alongside integrating with current projects and products on Moonriver we are also excited for new Moonriver and Moonbeam builders to be able to use OAK’s remote execution and other automation functionality to create new products as part of the Moonbuilders program and as part of the official Polkadot hackathons later this year. Our team has created a variety of resources for builders who want to integrate between Moonriver and the Turing Network. How does Cross-chain Automation Work?
OAK Network and our canary network Turing enable connected blockchains and parachains like Moonriver to utilize event-driven execution to automatically execute transactions and smart contract functions. Completely trust-free and non-custodially, users and developers can unlock rich user experiences such as recurring payments and auto-compounding rewards for services including but not limited to staking, yield farming, and liquidity provisions.

Parachain XCM creates the opportunity for the Turing Network to establish cross-chain automation — enabling muti-chain apps to schedule and automate extrinsics on Moonriver. The diagram below highlights the process.
