Ava Protocol recently hosted Cross-Chain Innovation Night, a virtual event designed to foster collaboration and synergies with innovative projects in web3. Held on our Discord server, the event featured special guests from Camp Network, a decentralized identity layer that’s focused on data ownership and privacy.
Ava Protocol community lead Mint Juice explained how Ava Protocol is focused on delivering autonomous “super-transactions” — predefined, seamless executions that prioritize privacy, composability, and cost-effectiveness. “These super transactions open up possibilities for innovative use cases across DeFi, GameFi, and NFTs, and really any application that requires automated web3 transactions or functions,” said Mint Juice.
They were joined by Camp Network’s community manager Usman Patel, product team member Griffin, and Rebecca, head of community. Described by Usman as “a decentralized digital backpack for your identity,” Camp Network aggregates web2 social data on-chain, allowing users to own and monetize their data, enhancing privacy and data portability. Developers can use Camp Network’s insights to craft personalized user experiences and build applications that are tailored for target audiences. This approach empowers users to freely integrate their digital identities across various platforms.
Potential Applications
The discussion centered on web3 use cases and how they can deepen platform functionality and user engagement. Several exciting examples emerged around Camp Network’s rich user data and Ava Protocol’s intent-centric automation capabilities:
- Dynamic NFTs: Mint Juice noted the potential for NFTs that change based on user activity or real-time data. A trustless integration of identity layer data with event-driven activation can support unique digital assets that update based on factors like user engagement and achievements.
- GameFi Integration: Griffin highlighted the potential for connecting web2 gaming profiles to web3 reward systems. He envisioned a seamless play-to-earn experience that could “wrap Web2 games and bring them into Web3,” utilizing intelligent automation to distribute rewards based on in-game achievements.
- Music Royalities: Usman mentioned Camp Network’s recent collaboration with the musical artist DEATHPIXIE, where fans receive membership NFTs and early access to new singles by engaging on social media. He also highlighted Camp’s partnership with Music Protocol, which aims to streamline rights management and royalty distributions. “With automations,” he explained, “I could see automated royalty and revenue distributions making a ton of sense for artists, distributors, and DSPs. When it’s fully verifiable and automated on-chain, everything becomes simplified, cutting out much of the friction that exists today.”
- Social Media Engagement: The discussion touched on innovative ways to incentivize quality content creation. Ideas ranged from automated rewards for TikTok challenges to compensating users for thoughtful product reviews. As Usman noted, “People do it anyway… Why not get rewarded for that as well?”
- Meme Tokens: Addressing a hot topic in the crypto world, Usman mentioned that Camp Network recently released a meme token called NUT and a corresponding CoinFlip game, which have quickly become popular with the Camp community. Usman acknowledged the negative “pump and dump” side of meme coins, and suggested creating a more organic and fan-friendly model. With Camp Network, fans could earn meme coins for off-chain activity, such as engaging with content.
- Hospitality Sector Integration: The discussion also referred to integrating with platforms like Blackbird, a web3 hospitality app. Automated rewards and perks for restaurant check-ins and related social media posts could be used to grow customer loyalty programs in the dining industry.
Community Engagement
The audience responded positively to these ideas, with attendees suggesting additional use cases in the event chat, including:
- Automated rewards in game stores for reaching specific purchase amounts.
- Automatic ticket purchases for events featuring favorite artists or sports teams.
- Using Camp Network and Ava Protocol for subscription services.
Throughout the event, both teams highlighted their respective grant programs aimed at supporting developers interested in building on their platforms. Ava Protocol has “given out over $400,000 in grants to developers so far,” said Mint Juice. He encouraged interested devs to explore Ava Protocol’s grant program and Developer Portal.
Camp Network also offers grants to web3 projects, focusing on initiatives that extend data ownership, privacy, and decentralized identity. With a range of funding opportunities available, Camp Network supports developers to create impactful solutions that leverage their decentralized identity layer. Looking Ahead
Our time with Camp Network underscored the immense potential for cross-chain capabilities and the value of connecting communities. It's clear to us that developers and entrepreneurs will propel web3 forward by working together.
We look forward to organizing future events where projects and teams can join together to explore the future of decentralized technology. Stay tuned for more announcements from Ava Protocol — and don't hesitate to reach out if you have ideas for collaborations or topics!
