The web3 community gathered at the first-ever Bay Area EigenLayer Ecosystem Meetup on July 31, setting the stage for a productive evening of networking and collaboration. Ava Protocol and Celo partnered to organize and host the event at Celo’s San Francisco headquarters, attracting dozens of developers, entrepreneurs, and blockchain enthusiasts who were eager to discuss EigenLayer’s growing ecosystem.
The meetup provided a space for members of the EigenLayer and Ethereum communities to mingle and exchange ideas. Throughout the event, attendees were able to introduce their projects and connect with representatives from Ava Protocol and Celo. More than a few of them were new to the idea of EigenLayer and ETH restaking, and eager to learn more about how EigenLayer can help bootstrap innovative web3 services.
Scaling partnerships was a prominent theme of the meetup, providing an excellent opportunity for projects to connect with potential collaborators. In a sense, this sort of thing is built into EigenLayer, which supports interoperability between different AVSs by allowing operators to simultaneously run validator software for multiple services.
By sharing validators and security, this common operational environment enables services to easily communicate and interoperate, boosting composability. Several promising conversations revolved around potential synergies between projects that are building within the ecosystem.
Among the exciting possibilities for collaboration, there’s strong potential for integrating Ava Protocol’s automation capabilities with Celo’s mobile-first approach to create seamless, scheduled transactions for users in emerging markets. That’s a good example of how different projects can work together to deliver something with high impact.
Other promising ideas that came up during discussions included automated streaming rewards for games and dapps, dynamic NFT minting and updates based on user actions, and cross-chain liquidity management for DeFi protocols.
As the evening progressed, attendees participated in an exclusive NFT minting session, creating a limited edition POAP (Proof of Attendance Protocol) NFT to commemorate the event, adding another dimension of engagement to the meetup.
The inaugural Bay Area EigenLayer Ecosystem Meetup demonstrated the growing interest in EigenLayer within the web3 industry, exemplifying the shared collaborative spirit that drives the industry forward. It provided a valuable forum for the EigenLayer community to build relationships and share knowledge, laying the groundwork for future ecosystem development.
With this event, Ava Protocol and Celo created a blueprint for fostering innovation and collaboration around EigenLayer. We’re already looking forward to the next one…
About Ava Protocol
Ava Protocol is an event-driven Eigenlayer AVS that seamlessly enables private autonomous super-transactions for numerous use cases, such as DeFi, NFTs, and games. We’re enhancing decentralized applications with scheduled and recurring payments, stop-loss orders, streaming rewards, and more. Ava Protocol’s intent-based execution model triggers cross-chain transactions based on signals such as time, price changes, and smart contract updates. Developers can easily schedule and automate functions across different blockchains, including Ethereum, ensuring efficient and reliable execution without compromising privacy.
About Celo
Celo is an emerging Ethereum Layer-2 and mobile-first blockchain network built for the real world and designed for fast, low-cost payments worldwide. The Celo ecosystem consists of a decentralized, proof-of-stake blockchain technology stack (the Celo Platform), the CELO native token, USDC, and USDT (both enabled as gas currencies), several Mento stable assets (cUSD, cEUR, cREAL, eXOF and cKES), and popular, blue chip infrastructure including Uniswap V3, Curve, Chainlink, and Rarible, among others. Launched on Earth Day in 2020, the open-source Celo mainnet supports a rich ecosystem of projects (1,000+) contributing to Celo’s global mission of prosperity for all.
