Hi OAK followers,

We have exciting news to share this week. Thanks to the tons of love from our community, as for today our official twitter account has gained 1000+ followers and the running nodes of OAK Testnet has surpassed 100! It’s a great start for a long journey, and we are super psyched to get recoginized by the Polkadot community!🌈 😎

1. Web3 Foundation retweet and 1000 followers

As many of our followers knew, OAK Network has completed a $30K open grant from Web3 Foundation to build out quadratic funding module for crowd-funding last month. Today,Web3 Foundation Team officially retweeted our announcement. As of the writting of this article, the news has received more than 100 Likes!

With the boost of the retweet, the number of our twitter followers surpassed 1000 today. Thanks every one for following us on Twitter! Please help spread the word!

2. More than 100 nodes running for OAK Testnet!

Since the launch of OAK Testnet, many developers and enthusiasts have checked out running a node. We made running the node super easy, that anybody can spin off a node with one line of command. We are amazed to see people all over the world have shown interests and jumped onboard to explore.

3. Global community building

OAK Network sets goals to build a global community since day one. Consolidating the different social media channels, we created a matrix of Discord+Twitter+Medium+WeChat multi-channel community.

On Discord, we currently developed 4 main sub-channels for various topics, including general, dev-questions, testnet, and validator. Many developers from the Polkadot community have joined the channel and asked questions such as node development, testnet qualifications, and OAK Testnet wallet setup.

At the same time, we have also created a WeChat group for Chinese developers. So far, OAK’s dev team has 100% uptime on responding to tech questions in WeChat community.

4. The weekly newsletter channels

OAK Network is publishing content on Medium, and WeChat public account on a weekly basis. Please follow us to receive the latest news of OAK Network development including announcement,Polkadot tutorials, development status, and partnership announcement.

Since the beginning, OAK Network WeChat public account has shown a rapid growth in the number of followers, views, and likes. On Medium, we also received decent amount of views and claps. Thanks to all who have recognized our work. We will keep pushing and deliver more secret sauce!

5. Quadratic funding pallet is being tested on OAK Testnet

As mentioned above, OAK Network has received grant funding from the Web3 Foundation and built an innovative crowdfunding module for the Polkadot. For more details, please read “OAK Network Won Web3 Funding to Establish a Quadratic funding module”.

With the technical support from the Web3 Foundation Team, we delivered milestone one of the quadratic funding module in a timely manner, and are testing the code on OAK Testnet. OAK Network will be the first to adopt the CLR module and apply it to the Polkadot ecosystem. We believe the crowd-funding module will facilitate the grant process, making it more fair and a fun experience.
