We believe that growth in the Kusama and Polkadot ecosystem will continue to be driven by attracting capital to fund new projects, and the team at OAK is excited to work with Imbue to expand access and participation in decentralized crowdfunding.
Imbue enables contributors to safely incubate and fund new ideas by unlocking access to funds only as the project team executes against stated milestones. Contributors vote to decide if the project has met the next milestone and the next batch of funding gets unlocked, or if the project gets rugged and funds are returned to the contributors.
Contributor participation is essential for ensuring that strong projects continue to receive funding. The partnership with OAK enables Imbue to notify contributors as milestones are submitted and prompt voting to determine if funding is released. Prior to Substrate and OAK, on-chain notifications required bots running on centralized servers or semi-on-chain keepers.
Voting notifications are the first way that trustless automation can expand access to and participation in decentralized crowdfunding, but certainly not the last. Our joint vision includes notifications for new investment opportunities, payroll for funded projects, and additional notifications and incentives to increase contributor participation.
