Crypto innovation took center stage in Austin last week at Consensus 2024. The conference brought together industry leaders, developers, and enthusiasts from around the globe, and OAK Network was thrilled to be there. We were fixtures at the main Polkadot booth, where we met attendees eager to learn how OAK Network’s on-chain technology can reliably automate transactions and functions across different blockchains. Here’s a review of the event’s highlights.
Showcasing Innovation
Visitors to the Polkadot booth had the opportunity to meet our founder and CEO, Chris Li, and learn firsthand about the powerful infrastructure we’re building to support autonomous transactions and smart contract functions. Key demonstrations included:
- Wallet Integration: Attendees explored the capabilities of Talisman and SubWallet, two wallets that are essential for managing assets and interacting with the OAK Network ecosystem.
- Recurring Payments: We demonstrated how OAK Network processes recurring payments, illustrating our automation technology’s utility for real-world transactions.
- Bagpipes Integration: Visitors responded enthusiastically to a demo of our integration with Bagpipes, a tool that allows users to build DeFi workflows without needing to write code. The drag-and-drop UI enables users to create custom cross-chain workflows effortlessly, making DeFi more accessible.
Igniting Inspiration
Chris participated in two informative fireside chats hosted by Polkadot and discussed his vision for private cross-chain automation and how OAK Network is helping to pave the way toward a more secure, efficient, and decentralized future.
Celebrating Talent
Chris was also busy as a judge in two key hackathon events that took place during Consensus 2024.
PolkadotSocial: Austin: This event was sponsored by AngelHack as part of the Polkadot Hackathon Global Series. Chris judged the XCM Integration track alongside Kevin Neilson, Ecosystem Development Lead of Moonbeam. Competitors presented creative projects focusing on building XCM automation with Turing Network and enhancing OAK Network’s automation tooling.
Duke Web3 Pitch Competition: This event allowed founders to connect with investors and industry leaders while presenting their projects to gain visibility and secure potential funding. Chris's involvement as a judge underscored OAK Network’s commitment to supporting the next generation of blockchain entrepreneurs.
Building Relationships
Outside of the scheduled events, our team enjoyed the chance to meet entrepreneurs, developers, and investors face-to-face. A particular highlight was a dinner organized by Electric Capital, where Chris was joined by members of ecosystem projects from Ethereum, Arbitrum and Solana. The gathering reflected the blockchain community’s collaborative spirit and our shared vision for the future.
Looking Ahead
Consensus 2024 was a great experience for the OAK Network team. We had the opportunity to showcase the latest developments with our protocol, engage with the broader crypto community, and make valuable new connections. The enthusiasm and interest we saw at Consensus have energized our efforts to foster cross-chain automation.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, joined our sessions, and took the time to chat with us. Your support motivates us to keep pushing boundaries. Together, we’ll create automated web3 solutions that are transformative.
